Trip to Phuket Organizing Process Part.1

First of all, I would like to thank all who had contributed their efforts toward this planning. Graduation trip, also known as our final gathering trip for us who had bonded together for years. Indeed, many things have happened since we first met. Who knows what will happen after we had depart?

In this post, I'm jotting down the backstage throughout the whole planning. If you could recalled, YeeLin once suggested that we tour Australia (at early 2009) and she said it could be done in RM2.5k. We were excited but Richard did not believe her budget estimation. But as far as I know, YeeLin is a professional cheap tour hunter, if she couldn't do it, no one can XD Therefore, that consideration tracked us until the day we truly decide where to go.

At the beginning, KokSheng and JooYen took the responsibility to inquire about the whole trip fare to Thailand from a tour agent in Alor Setar. Meanwhile, Mei Ngor who was able to seek a better price for Australia tour went for her tour research. She believed everything can be done within RM2k. Seriously, being economic is our prior concern as we aim to involve many individuals who are prone to financial limitation. If Mei Ngor could successfully get us within the budget, we would consider it.

Not long after that, KokSheng found us a tour package which includes hotel staying and 6 islands hooping for 5days in Thailand. It was a RM1k++ package and it doesn't seems ideal as we might then spend a total of RM1.5k++ for the rest of the eating and the playing. Therefore, we urged to reconsider visiting only 2 island maximum since every island is the same. Meanwhile, Mei Ngor hasn't update us a bit. On the other hand, JooYen told me her tour agent could only confirms her the package pricing by 2011.

Followed, YaChie sent us a called for air-asia ticketing as she found affordable tickets to Gold Coast under RM300. Then I thought we will be going Australia after all. However, no one seems to respond.
Australia or Thailand?

Then as TeckWei said, it seems like the trip gonna canceled soon as and KokSheng was talking about it lot. No one could ever picture of how our graduation trip will be, unlike the others who had planned for Taiwan and HongKong etc.

In one of our yamcha session with KokYong and TeckWei, we talked about it. KokYong commented that Phuket is in fact a enjoyable place and it actually convinced us. The more we talked about it, the more we felt like going. Moreover, everyone affords to go. So I ponder as if I could contribute anything.

All these days, I've done no effort but just rush for their results. In this state of uncertainty, someone must has done something. Therefore, I surfed the net and try to write out a proposal, assisted by KokYong. As a result, an overall budget was compiled. It was satisfying when I received those confirmations from our group. Meanwhile, KokYong and KokSheng surprised that our accommodation cost us only RM25 per day per person and comes with breakfast each day.

Of course, I would like to Thank God for arranging all coincidences. [Coincidence 1] KokYong who had been to Phuket has provided us valuable information such as transport fares and entertainment fares. [Coincidence 2] As I was about to decide to book the tickets, HanJian suddenly prompted out that air asia was to give out promotion prices to Phuket and it exactly falls on the months we desire to go. Previously, everyone was worrying that if we make our decision on tour late, we couldn't get cheap flights. We had presumed our trip would be expensive but it doesn't turn out this way^^ [Coincidence 3] Knowing that only me and KokSheng possessed credit cards, we became the prime 'bookers'. However, air asia was playing a joke as the prices changed two days after announcement. TeckWei who had realized the first price changed immediately contacted me and we decided to book. Contacting KokSheng was funny. He was in his secondary school helping out his friends but he then chose to travel to cc to help in booking. At first, I thought I could had done it alone but who knows my credit card got problems that unable to book =P In the end of the day, KokSheng alone used his credit card to book for everyone. [Coincidence 4] Through online booking, the place was limited and you know, we are a big bunch of people. We were worrying if we unable to get cheap tickets for everyone. Who know the eight person should pay more? Even if we fairly divided the flight fare, it doesn't seems worth. However, there was ngam ngam 13 free seats at the moment and 13 out of 15 of us successfully purchased the seats. Now, even if the remaining 2 were expansive tickets, it's still cheap when we divided all fares.

November Sokia

-This sokia's day was Nov4-

Together with WenYi and KokYong, we bought the cake and I purposely presented before him ordering his japanese meal =P Why? It was because 'waiting for surprises' is suffering and I prolonged his joy leh by letting him enjoyed earlier~ Haha! After that, we went for Dota.

-This sokia's day was Nov7-

Together with HueiXing which the others went for the football show, we went to ChatzRoom. I purposely asked him to do all those orderings while me and HueiXing went to enjoy the scenery. Haha~ I'm just want to be naughty =P After that, I disallowed him to use fork and spoon whereby both of us would feed him. Crazy huh? That's me =P

We fellow friends planned for a surprise. Somehow, the detail will be revealed 2 hours later.

This girl is so sokia that she personally asked me to organize for her birthday. I was so sweat diao~ Anyway, we went for karaoke this Friday for her day celebration and watched Skyline movie. The movie's sucks. After that, we went to McD for the cake~ 5 candles? 3 use hand take, 1 use mouth take, 1 use nostril take XD Participants were the couple, KokSheng, TeckWei, YiZhong and we coincidentally met up Serene and CheeMun.

First I would like to blame MeiNgor for spread rumors that I bring bad luck to those who intend to celebrate for me as they did suffered bad luck the previous year. So she invited everyone to celebrate the day before my real birth-date which then leave me blank during the real date == Anyway, another party celebrated for me =P As said, my birthday falls between +/- 7days of Oct21. Above are the presents received this year although PeterSoo has still yet to pass me his present from Sabah XD I'm looking forward for it^^ Below was my previous year birthday present card and they wished me to gain weight by the 'protein milk' bought but it failed lar =PThank you SereneMah for her hardship =) I love these good friends of mine who has been supporting me much^^ (Sorry for being unable to labels everyone's name because it's too many and some may not related to this post but as long as you me know who can d, Haha!!)

Happened in Genting Highland

The four of us went to Genting Highland for fun and we came across a fortune teller who himself super accurate in analyzing one's personality, future and needs. He looked at KokSheng and he immediately claims that he needs his advices. Certainly, KokSheng wouldn't had wanted it but me who are always busybody toward these superstition actually asked for his analysis XD I was so looking forward for it but he says 'You do not need me and I do not want to waste your money.'

What is that suppose to mean!? Then he looked at BanChing and WeiSoon, then said "They may choose to or not to for his examination." BUT why am I the only one?

Anyway, it was fun day-night trip with them and I'm looking forward for another fun.

Champion after Next

Well, it can't be denied that this day is indeed one of the most remarkable. Firstly, we'd marked down a wonderful moment of history that being the first Civil Engineering students who won champion in competition after next, the Nehemiah.

Nehemiah Story

Since this my personal blog, I would write the truth =) Actually, I did not contribute much on ideas during the Nehemiah competition except for the sole video presentation, and gladly everything turned us the champion.

It couldn't be denied the fact that Dr Low and Dr Lee had helped us much. Plus, I heard Dr Lee was 24 hours occupied before and during this event.

Dr Low is great. It was his idea to think of using environment friendly concept to construct the whole wall retaining structure. In addition, he further emphasizes the importance of culvert for the structure. Under precise planning, he suggested to reuse old tyres as both the wall and deadman and the 3 layers of tyres staging tiers are his idea as well. He had even recommended interlocking bolts for wall tyres. By fact and truth, he deserves all credits and I believe we couldn't had done it without his determination and consideration =)

After winning the prizes, naturally people will think of who shall they be appreciated and truthfully I mark my appreciation here as the flow of this Nehemiah competition process goes like this.

In the beginning, KokSheng was inviting everyone to join this competition but somehow the result turned out not as it pleases. He also was asked to find the helpers by Dr Khoo. Without hesitation, I agreed to team up him to fight this fun despite that others were still worrying about the semester assignments and projects. Nevertheless, many had agreed to be the helpers. All in all, it was his approached that I joined this competition and so I thanked him. I can even recalled that we said it might come to worse that only two of us participating it but we were ready for it. He would do the model and I would do the multimedia and presentation =)

Later, the group expanded when YiZhong msn'ed me said that he wanted to participate as well, followed by the involvement of PeterSoo, RichardChai and WeiHao. The designing of poster for submission and getting DrLow idea into projectile were my task. In exchange, the rest of them get me a copy of water resource assignment. Undeniably, the drawing did consumed much of my time due to the mass loading but it was worthwhile for being qualified in the first stage. Then our group name is 'Top Consultant' although the name 'Gmac' was in the poster =P mis-communication I supposed. Haha... Printing the poster was another funny moment. First, it cost us bucks to print at pv3 and due to some mistake another printing at TBR yet again mistake occurred which I finally reprinted it for the last time in SB block == Anyway, it's worth.

Thus I recalled that, YiZhong began to plan on how to construct the model with KokSheng. KokSheng first idea was constructing another cross section for judges to inspect which I then suggested that we can make a cut within the model which we easily withdraw a portion in the model like a cake. YiZhong further recommended the material of transparent plate to withstand the trembling soil upon withdrawal of the cut 'cake'. Overall, I'm glad that my idea of 'cut cake' was practically adopted^^

Then, KokSheng began to construct the model on his own while I was doing my multimedia. I could say that I left the model construction wholly to others responsibility as I then have no further contact with opinion and idea. Well, except for the journey to collect the rubber. Hereby, we again thank KokSheng for his initiation to contact both DrLow and MrTan for the rubber obtained. Also the one who drive us there and anyone who helps to carry the heavy loads. In fact, I was initially there to tell where is the toll located but I'm a road 'cacat' and I just point them the toll location and got us wrong direction, Haha =P

The next thing I know, KokSheng was using clay to construct the model and Richard were strongly against him. Perhaps, I trusted KokSheng and to support his belief to the end. Frankly, I did not want to involve in model construction as planned in the beginning if possible. And they were accusing Dr Low for some reasons...

It was then a chaos like Peter said "conflict happened". The model was then material changed by RichardChai. Somehow, I thank RichardChai, PeterSoo, WeiHao, Pang and YiZhong for their labor efforts in construction. They had even considered on soil layers. I remember it took them days to get things done while some of us were doing the due to date structural design assignment. It was anyway YiZhong's idea to build a tunnel for animals crossing and DrLee often visit for advises during the construction. I even heard that they redo the soil refill for many times yet it was hardly noticeable by judges during inspection. What a waste.... All in all, they had certainly done a great job. Additional ideas were solar lighting and extension of highway came in later on as if they would help. Who's idea was that? I'm not sure =P But not to forget that the plantation for tyres cover was DrLow's idea =) Haha~

During that competition, it was my first time seeing the newly constructed model. All concepts were well adopted. What are our specialties against the others despite that many has been using tyres concept along with culvert? Perhaps the animal tunnel. Haha~ Hereby, We have to thank PeterSoo for his astonishing and clear presentation. All I can ever help was to summarize his speech and to relocate some missing concepts during the media presentation =D

Talking about efforts, I still think Stephen team somehow did the best.

As you see, their model is clean and well presentable. If the prizes were to be taking solely aesthetic value and hardwork. I would credit them the best and their presentation method was incomparable. I can notice that they had even considered the smallest object in their model building. Seriously, I would had made them a winner.
This is the 1st runner up. They were practically using the Nehemiah product and was well media presented. Since we are the winner, I presumed the main point of winning is all concept than appearance. I remember the marking system was based little on appearance but a lot in engineering knowledge and multi-media. Well, their multi-media does win them lot points =)
This is the 2nd runner up. The are the only group without media presentation. From this point, it can be further ensured that winning is about engineering knowledge. They have the same tyres, culvert, tiers, interlocking concept just that they were lacking of media presentation points. Therefore, using DrLow's sole tyres concept has already took us into top 3. Hence concepts and presentation greatly credited to DrLow.

Build and Break Story

Not long after Nehemiah competition, build and break competition took place. The participating group members were collected by YiZhong and again we won with our final product.
Upon waiting for load testing, we were so nervous to see some groups presented well. One of them had even used two buckets of loads before us. Anyway, entering the pre-qualifying round had already made us extremely joyful.

This is the product of our efforts won.

Electrical Game

Finally, I have my electrical machine paper done. Em... How am I going to rate my performance? Well, it is quite confusing when I come to learn it. That is why I said I've mastered 'Confusiology' in FB before I went to sleep. In my dream last night, I was further bamboozled. An unrecognized idiot confounded me with weird formulas in my dream. Upon waking up, immediately I smelled danger but it was too late to revise everything since I slept too babi'ly and woke up late... Plus I was sick.

KokSheng was compassionate. He brought me a jacket before examination without me asking him to do so. I must thank him =D Together with his ball-pen that I borrowed earlier (and just realized I forgot to return), I entered the hall in a blur condition =P

The questions were 50% theories 50% calculation. Oh gosh, is finishing up the whole thing within an hour a bad sign? I was like drawing comic in the answer sheets. Haha =P And many people were claiming that they were losing marks for that. Haiz...

Hence we farewell for EM. Thanks for everyone's support and Happy Birthday to MahSerene^^

MoonCake Festival

As soon as KoShin said she wants to treat me chocolate MoonCake upon my return, BanChing also claimed that he's going to give me MoonCake on Sunday. Lucky! Haha~ Frankly speaking, my family does not celebrate Mooncake Festival so it was certainly normal for me not knowing when is it =P All this time, I'm happy receiving greetings for various people meanwhile sending them back^^ KokSheng's MoonCake was also nice and I actually finished his final piece last Saturday =P Paiseh hor...

Actually, this festival brought me sickness == Without any reason, my throat started to sore when the clock walked past 12am. Have I been cursed? Sui Betul! Then when I woke up, I started to pening pening already~

I need to get my EM done as soon as possible and since Airasia is offering such a cheap package to Japan, shall we tour there again? Haha! Japan Fever ~^^

Good Morning

I'm going back to Klang again this afternoon but before that I'm going to have breakfast with KhaiShen and KokSheng =) By they way, have you ever heard of wangsa maju 'cah kuei teow'? The price increased again as said - RM5 per big plate. Hm... they are too much and better not to eat there again =P

Meanwhile, I can't cease myself to think about the future. I asked myself about my aim and my desires. Thus on my way back to Klang, an idea struck me and I know exactly what should I do for the first step outside... Hehe...

Determination

Taking 2 theory subjects in one shot is kind of challenging. Well you see, I hate memorizing things because my mind is always full. Full of nonsense you may say~ Haha! Anyway, they are now history and the next paper falls on coming Friday (6days to go).

The idea is that KokSheng was planning for another steamboat dinner tonight and It was by sudden inspiration. Here tonight we have KhaiShen, MeiNgor, KoShin, CheeMun and SereneMah. However before steamboat preparation, we actually went for a film, Piranha. One word that I that would place my comment is 'disgusting'. Yuckz... And why do we pay to scare ourselves? Haha. In fact, we didn't plan for a movie but we just simply pick one to watch =P

After that, KokSheng was saying that he wants to learn fluent English. Well, it is a good thing and I'm ready to give my support =) I believe that he is someone who can achieves more with his personality when he does well in speech and I hope this time wont turns into vanity anymore =D Everyone has his strengths, and not to deny there are weaknesses =)

The night steamboat was terrific although it was not stomach filling =P I mean I like gathering but somehow my lack of sleep is killing my enthusiasm. This is the first time I witnessed steamboat served using coal. Cool huh? Yet it was hot as we have to off the fan to keep the fire burning.

The Record

I can't believe I just finish 14weeks lecture in 1 day. Haha! Syok'nya!~ However, that is Concrete Technology which comes after Geoenvironmental Paper. I still have some left over for Geoenvironmental which I must master them this day! (Since it pasts 12am)

So my current feeling is~ Relax aje~ Future is just ahead and I know how to deal with 'em. Soon at 2nd Oct, I'm going to have my built and break competition with TeckWei, KokSheng, YiZhong, HueiXing, StephenPang, TiongBun, HeePeng and KahChoong before going for a Perlis Trip with KhaiShen, JooYen, HanJian, TeckWei and KokSheng at 4th Oct.

Talking about Build and Break, this is going to be my second time participating it. The first time was actually by accident. I registered it without knowing what exactly it was and thought it as an exhibition for the coming bridge competition. If I were to recall, I did claimed not to participate for the next turn and I was greatly unsatisfied. Guess what? You all know what even without me telling you =D Haha! We just have the same feelings~

Then for this turn, I'm somehow back into play again =P In that meantime, TiongBun approached me followed by HueiXing. Perhaps, something unexpected was operating when I was that time still in Japan. =D Whatever~

2 days after the competition, we will be heading to Perlis. I hope we can visit Thailand as well. Visiting Penang is not a bad idea neither =) Only if HueiXing is back in Penang where she could bring us tour Penang^^ But I remember KokSheng says he's familiar with Penang =D

Appreciation

Thanks to Dr. Jeffery that I could have a wonderful study week =) Seriously, I thanked him although I'd failed myself in his paper which it serves me right for not working hard. You know I did gave up on one chapter but it comes out. I was like 'Shit!' I felt like shouting XD Haha! Whatever~ time is irreversible. Anyway, I wanted to thank him for connecting us toward extreme. Also, I'm thanking everyone whom had been contributing towards my studies although that I'm doing bad =P Haha! (Except for BanChing who curse me to fail, now he happy liao... Nola, just kidding. Actually, the one who helped me the most is BanChing^^ I praised him in front of KhaiShen, KhaiShen jealous~ Hahaha!)

After the test, KhaiShen brought me back to Klang again along with KokSheng and his family was so generous, treating us dinner^^ In fact, they had been treating us for several times and his father again urged us to visit him after our finals. He promised to share us his most expensive tea.

Followed, a basketball match with KhaiShen and his brother (KhaiXiang) bled my toe =P Pain... Meanwhile, my aunt make me a supper which I need to stay back in Klang while KhaiShen and KokSheng return Setapak.

Therefore, I'm now in Klang... And I had already thrown my NOTES!!!!!! Anyway, friends are comprehending as I post that 'not to trigger me' in my msn pm. Never did I see any status that will deactivate me so far =D Hah!

Eat eat and eat!!!

During our dinner, BanChing suddenly called me. I thought he was going to offer me something since he was first to ask whether do I need him to get a BS code printed =D and I was right, he wanna offer me a ride for dim sam dinner along with WeiSoon. Haha! Too bad I'm in Klang and was that time having MiHonKer for dinner.

We are going to have another BahKutTeh next morning before returning Setapak which they urged me to stay in their house again=P What I left now is the Wind Load and I planned not to bother FRP anymore. What a tedious job! I hope the wind can blow UTAR or Jeffery away~

BanChing is really funny lar... Betahan Him XD Haha! This Jeffery really kept everyone of us interacting^^ However, everyone +BoonLeong wants him death.

By the way, we came across Indian don't know what what festival on our way back. They were worshiping like what the Chinese did when receiving Fortune God. Bersemangat~

Nice Tree

I'm currently in KhaiShen house =P Writing this post here means that I actually slacking around but at least I'm better than someone who is now asleep.

First of all, it was KhaiShen's idea who invited me for an extreme morning BahKutTeh. I was like 'might as well I stay over his house then together we go for BahKutTeh the next day'. Without much hesitation, the plan executed. Then, I met KokSheng which eventually I recalled KoShin's idea about something =P We crapped which soon I came to know more and more. Haiz... Actually, all those matters are about comprehending. Nothing is complicated and it depends on us understanding it or not =D

Studying is still in progress. Later on, I'll have my dinner with them plus meeting HeeYang. Blerk!

Come! come!!

I suppose the majority are struggling for the coming paper, which in fact the most troublesome one. Few days ago, HeeYang and Den invited me to study together but I was in Klang and currently still is... Then, HeeYang said that he would come over. Haha!

An hour before when I was revising for chapter 1, KhaiShen called me. He said that he is returning klang together with KokSheng and planned to have a 'Bah Kut Teh' next morning. I was like 'Wow!' and I hope everyone would had come here since one by one is shifting their minds here.

In this time of exam sorrow, we should had done something extraordinary =) Come! Come!

Steamboat Night

No one seems to remember who think of this activity. In my memory, it was KokSheng^^ Alright, it was a wonderful yesterday night whereby we eat and I was kinda like being bullied because I was somehow occupied by WenYi to Dota XD Haiz... Hahahaha! So basically, we have to thank KhaiShen for offering his house as the dining venue and for the sake of inviting everyone^^

It was to my surprise that HueiXing and Den joined along! Hahaha^^

As I first mentioned that I'll leave earlier,

After I distributed the souvenir from far away. Everyone macam immediately say want to escort me to the internet cafe XD Hahahaha! So realistic betul^^

Actually I tried to get everyone an unique object but somehow... The things which I come across are only for girls, so I replaced guys thing with tonnes of snacks. However due to some plan error, snacks were taken by the girls as well and left some guys without anything TT. Hahahaha!!! My mistake, sorry guys (And don't ask me about key-chain, I don't buy key-chain because I never see anymore using it when people give =P)
